Educational Therapy:
  Brain Training + Tutoring

Our unique program provides a whole-child approach
to help children succeed in school and in life.

How is our Educational Therapy process?

WHAT IS EDUCATIONAL THERAPY?

It is an individualized support to children with learning differences, using their knowledge of the emotional, social, neurological, academic, and behavioral aspects of learning.

We offer concierge services at schools and homes within the Miami area, or at our center located in Brickell.

We also offer remote services worldwide.

The main goal is to  IMPROVE THE LEARNING PROCESS FROM ITS ROOT.

Children and adolescents rewire their brain by working on their primitive reflexes, cognitive processing, language skills, academic skills, and executive functioning skills.

We help children and adolescents with:

  • ADHD

  • Dyslexia

  • Dyscalculia

  • Auditory Processing Disorder

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Language Disorders

  • Non-Verbal Learning Disorder

  • Executive Functioning Deficits

  • Test Anxiety

  • Twice Exceptional

  • Learning Challenges

  • ESOL students

OUR METHOD

Our innovative and comprehensive method combines brain training to target processing (including attention, memory, auditory and visual processing, and processing speed) and academic remediation to focus on reading, math, and writing skills.

This unique intervention allows children to learn better and acquire the necessary strategies and tools to improve academically. We are eager to build a team between therapist-parents-school, to let children reach their full potential. We work closely with parents to provide strategies related to organizational and study skills and emotional readiness for learning, as well as with teachers to provide recommendations for accommodations in the classroom and to have a fluent communication in order to set up goals and expectations for the child.

According to each child’s learning needs, the intervention consists of a combination of programs that allows the brain to work from the root to the problem to the necessary academic skills that are needed in the classroom.

Educational Therapists implement:

  • Orton Gillingham method

  • Multisensory approach

  • Interventions for executive functioning skills

  • Growth mindset practice

  • Brain Training programs

  • Play-based approach

  • Excellent rapport with the child to build a safe learning experience

WHO BENEFITS?

CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS:

Our program was initially designed for children with Dyslexia or ADHD.
However, over the last years, we found that it also serves the needs of children who do not have a specific disorder but are not succeeding in school, either because they struggle in reading and writing, or in planning and study skills, their behavior negatively impacts their academic performance, or because of lack of motivation.

PARENTS:

Parents could rely on having a specialist at home dedicated to deal with homework and schoolwork, while at the same time work with their child’s cognitive and emotional development. Moreover, parents can learn strategies to better assist their child in school.

TEACHERS:

When the child works with us, we are eager to have a fluent communication with the teacher so as to build a great team to let the child succeed in school.

Teachers feel confident that they have a support system outside of the classroom that aligns with their expectations and goals.

Our educational therapists receive weekly supervision and training by our Harvard-educated and Licensed School Psychologist Director Valeria Fontanals,Ed.M,SS.
